Ms Mmabatho Matiwane is the current B-BBEE Manager at PetroSA, responsible for ensuring that PetroSA makes an impact on the economic empowerment of its employees and small to medium suppliers in line with B-BBEE objectives.

In pursuit of PetroSA's mandate of driving transformation in the Oil and Gas industry, she continues to facilitate economic inclusion, effective participation, and the empowerment of small to medium-sized companies. Through the support provided, these companies continue to create much-needed jobs in South Africa. Part of this includes facilitating business support through non-financial and financial support. This includes establishing an internal fund to provide financing to grow and support their supplier contracts.

Her passion is rooted in the economic empowerment of women. This comes with extensive experience in driving the establishment and implementation of establishing various programs supporting women in business leadership and mainly entrepreneurship. She continues to organize business platforms aimed at imparting knowledge, skills, and expertise to those involved in Oil, Gas and Marine.

As the subject of just energy transition dominates both the local and the international agenda, she continues to ensure that small to medium size businesses are an integral part of this engagement and reap the benefit for themselves and the broader communities.

She has been awarded the Finalist Emerging Countries Category: La Tribune is launching the La Tribune Women's Awards 2011 (France, Paris), the Winner of Leading Women in Supporting and Facilitating the Economic Empowerment of Women in SA Government (2009); the Winner of Top Women in Business and Government, Young Achiever (2005); and Awarded as the dti Phenomenal Women for Leadership on Gender & Transformation (2003).

She serves as a judge of the distinguished Independent & International Judging Panel for the GLOBALWIIN AWARDS (UK) and is excited to serve as a new member of the Africa Oil Week Advisory Committee 2023.
