Engr Gbenga Komolafe

Engr. Gbenga Olu Komolafe was born in Igbara-Oke, Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nigeria in 1963.

After his Primary and secondary school education in Ondo-State, he proceeded to the University of Ilorin, Kwara State to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree (B.Eng.) in Engineering in 1987.
Subsequently, Engineer Komolafe attended the University of Ibadan and obtained Master’s degree in Industrial and Labour Relations (M.I.L.R.) in 1995. He also pursued and obtained a Masters (M.Sc.) degree in Industrial and Production Engineering in 1998 also from the University of Ibadan.

In his quest for further knowledge, Engineer Komolafe proceeded to the University of Benin where he acquired a Bachelor’s degree (LL.B) in Law in 2006 and was later called to Bar (B.L) in 2008 after successful completion of the Law School at Bwari Law School, Abuja.

He is a sound and versatile technocrat with robust and successful career. His employment history cuts across different parastatals in the Oil and Gas Sector and other key agencies of Government in Nigeria. He has attained and successfully managed key Executive positions amongst which are:
  • The Pioneer Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC)
  • Pioneer Managing Director – Nigeria Pipeline and Storage Company (NPSC) of NNPC
  • Group General Manager Special Duties – NNPC
  • Group General Manager – Crude Oil Marketing Division (COMD) of NNPC
  • Executive Director Commercial – Pipelines and Products Marketing Company (PPMC) of NNPC
  • General Manager Operations - Petroleum Equalisation Fund (PEF)
  • General Manager Operations - Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA)
ngr. Komolafe served in various National assignments and Committees that are of great significance to the Federation’s oil revenue, such as:
  • Presidential Committee on Open-Access Common Carrier Regime in 2005
  • Technical Committee on Downstream Petroleum Industry Deregulationfrom 2009 to 2011
  • Presidential Investigative Committee on Crude Oil Theft in 2015 tomention a few
He is a member and Fellow of many prestigious professional bodies, amongst which are Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Microfinance Management Institute of Nigeria, Institute of Corporate Administrators of Nigeria, Council of Registered Engineers (COREN), Fellow of Nigeria Society of Engineers (FNSE), Member Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) and Member Nigeria Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM).

An adaptive professional and resourceful administrator, a Presidential Merit Award Winner, Engr. Komolafe was also conferred with the highest honour of Fellowship of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE) in 2011 as a recognition of his professional excellence, diligence and academic achievements.

Engr. Komolafe is widely travelled and has attended several Executive Management Programmes both locally and internationally with global exposition to best practices across countries such as the United States of America, Canada, United Kingdom, Russia, Brazil, South-Africa, India etc.

He is happily married with children and enjoys playing golf and table tennis, gardening and reading.
