Dr Ross Compton

EAME Consultant, EnerGeo


Dr. Ross Compton is the EAME (Europe, Africa, Middle East) Consultant for EnerGeo Alliance, the global trade association for the energy geoscience industry. As the cornerstone of the energy industry, EnerGeo engages governments and stakeholders worldwide on issues central to geophysical operations and exploration access.

In his role, Ross provides strategic guidance on industry matters in the EAME regions and supports EnerGeo member companies operating in EAME, helping to further advance the industry’s freedom to operate. His responsibilities include extensive research, stakeholder engagement on legislative affairs and keeping EnerGeo Alliance abreast of updates to the environmental and broader legislative framework affecting marine operations.

Ross has a background in ecology and marine science from the universities of Edinburgh and Plymouth. As a project manager and environmental consultant, Ross has extensive experience working in the science community and has spent the last 18 years in the offshore energy sector working with companies including WGP Seismic, RPS Energy, Horizon Geosciences and EPI.
