Steve has over forty years’ experience in the search for oil and gas around the world. He began his exploration career in South Africa with SOEKOR in 1974, moving on to BP in 1977 where he first worked in the international appraisal group and then moved to Aberdeen to work on North Sea exploration. He was then posted to Oman where he worked on onshore exploration. He left BP in 1982 to join a small British independant; Tricentrol, where he was responsible for developing their circum-Mediterranean portfolio, eventually moving to Damascus, where he was General Manager for their onshore exploration venture.
This continued when ARCO bought Tricentrol in 1988. In 1989 Steve returned to the UK and took on responsibility for ARCO’s exploration effort in the UK Rockall Trough and Ireland. When ARCO was taken over by BP he moved to Veritas to help develop geological services within the company. Through Geological Services and its extensive data library in the UK Central North Sea, Veritas developed a portfolio of exploration licenses in the UKCS. The company was bought by CGG in 2007 and Steve continues to develop an exploration portfolio in the UK and support Multi-Client new ventures around the world.
