Philip Dimmock is Advisor to Oando Energy Resources Inc. focussing on the maximisation of the value of its portfolio of deep-water blocks in the Gulf of Guinea.
Philip has 50 years’ experience in upstream oil and gas in Africa, UK, USA and Middle East. Starting as a reservoir engineer, he spent the first half of his career at BP in a variety of senior technical, operational & planning positions including manager of the Forties offshore oil field. Subsequently, he held executive roles in independent oil companies, including VP International & MD UK at Ranger Oil, VP Operations at Vanco Energy and COO at Equator Exploration. He served as an executive officer of the UK Offshore Operators Association.
Philip has also served on public company boards since 2005. From 2005 until 2012, he was an Executive Director of Equator Exploration Ltd (AIM:EEL) and a Non-Executive Director of Nautical Petroleum Plc (AIM:NTP). From 2012 until 2018, he was an NED of Gulf Keystone Petroleum Ltd (LSE:GKP) finishing as the Senior Independent Director. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Block Energy Plc.
He holds an MA in Physics from the University of Oxford where he was an Open Scholar at Pembroke College
