He has experience working with banks, export credit agencies, multilateral lenders and other DFIs, as well as for sponsors and governments.

This experience allows Martin to provide clients in Africa with solutions-based and commercially robust advice, regardless of the jurisdictions involved. Martin leads the firm's relationship with the IFC, and many other DFIs.
Martin is one of the six HSF partners singled out as a leading lawyer for Africa-wide Projects & Energy by Chambers Global 2018, which says that Martin's "financing experience is particularly valued by clients, who say: 'Martin is one of the best debt finance lawyers I've worked with. His knowledge of debt finance structuring both inside and outside of Africa leads him to have an appreciation of commercial issues which many lawyers do not possess'." He is also ranked as a leading lawyer in Legal 500 UK, Who's Who Legal and Best Lawyers.
