Head: Value Chain Banking Absa Group

KeaObaka Mahuma is Head: Value Chain Banking (VCB) for Absa Group Ltd in Africa, responsible for executing the strategic agenda for financing businesses supplying goods and services into corporate value chains across Africa.
 
He has held a number of positions at Absa, including:  Head:  Structured Transactions Finance, Head:  Strategic Support Services, Head:  Enterprise and Supplier Development, as well as Managing Executive:  SME Banking.
 
Prior to joining Absa, he held a number of positions including being the founder of Grandstone Group (supporting the growth of small and medium businesses), CFO at Cornastone Technology Holdings, and a Corporate Finance Associate at both JP Morgan and Brait Merchant Bank.
 
He has authored and published two books: Tax handbook for Small Business Owners, and The Financial Steward – A guide to managing personal finances.
 
KeaObaka is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Masters’ Degree in tax, B.Com Honours (Accounting) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Accounting, all from the University of Cape Town.
