Haran Sivam is a Principal Investment Officer in the Oil & Gas Group within IFC’s Natural Resources Department. IFC is the private sector arm of the World Bank Group.  IFC currently has nearly $2 billion in equity and debt investments in about forty Oil & Gas projects throughout the Emerging Markets, with roughly 50% of its investments on the African continent. Mr. Sivam is responsible for IFC Oil & Gas activities in East and Southern Africa, and has a focus on developing IFC’s footprint in LNG-related projects. Prior to taking up his current position in 2012, Mr. Sivam spent four years as a Managing Director at the Blackstone Group, and has 20 years of power sector experience in various capacities in the Emerging Markets. He has Mechanical Engineering degrees from MIT and Brown University, and an MBA from the Wharton School.
