Africa Oil Week Wins Award

Africa Oil Week has won a Gold Award for Best Overseas Conference

It is with great pleasure we announce that Africa Oil Week has won Gold Award for Best Overseas Conference of the Year at the 2019 Conference Awards.

We would like to congratulate our colleagues who thoroughly deserve the recognition and prestige that comes with being the recipients of a Conference Award.

The Conference Awards aim to recognise and celebrate achievements across the conference and events industry. They strive to acknowledge attainment within an industry that is continuously evolving and re-drawing the boundaries of best practice. Winners are selected by an illustrious panel of industry professionals and are given exclusively to conferences which reflect the ‘pinnacle of professional achievement’.

The Judges reasons for selecting Africa Oil Week were as follows: “Celebrating its 25th edition in 2018, Africa Oil Week is the leading business intelligence and transaction platform for Africa’s oil & gas sector. The history and legacy set the conference apart through content-led forums. The judges felt this was a strong event, with good impact and growth across key metrics. There was also an excellent focus on the onsite delegate experience.”

As Simon Ford, the new Portfolio Director for both events explains, this is “an achievement that the team should be proud of and recognition for the event’s continuous development through targeted programmes for each segment of the oil and gas value chain. Through the VIP and Ministerial forum, an investment focus and a technology showcase, Africa Oil Week is pushing the boundaries of event innovation to drive a strong return on investment for all participants. 2019 promises to be our most successful event to date, with a lot to look forward to in the years to come.”

Lydia Matthews, Group Head of Content added ”We won because we had a clear focus of where we wanted to go, clear priorities, and really understood our customers’ needs by making sure we delivered a fantastic customer experience and ROI.”
