Another week of lockdown, another weekly news round-up! We’re bringing you some of the positive stories shared with us by the AOW community this week.

At last, some good oil price news! Oil futures powered ahead on Thursday, extending a three-day rally inspired by moves by Opec and other producers to implement drastic cuts. Read more from Upstream here.

Sasol have released this video from CEO Fleetwood Grobler detailing their response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Southern Africa. Efforts so far include weekly donations of 100,000 litres of hand sanitizer and the donation of and one million litres of jet fuel for repatriation purposes. Watch it here.

Angolan state oil company Sonangol has opened a public tender to sell its stakes in some private firms as part of a government bid to privatize key state assets. Describing Sonangol as an "octopus," the country's minister of Mineral Resources and Petroleum, has said it must shed stakes in everything from hotels to aviation. Sierra Leone has provisionally awarded licences to Cluff Energy Africa and Innoson Oil and Gas, following the conclusion of its fourth licensing round. Read more from Energy Voice here.
