NEW Keynote Speaker: Alex Epstein
The American energy theorist Alex Epstein, author of the best-selling 2014 book The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels, has confirmed he will speak at the 2017 edition of Africa Oil Week - making his first appearance at the event. Epstein is the founder and President of the Center for Industrial Progress, a think tank based in San Diego. Epstein will take part in a debate called 'Phasing Out Fossil Fuels: The Moral Case' against Charlotte Aubin, President of GreenWish Partners SAS, moderated by BBC Nigeria correspondent Didi Akinyelure.

Ministerial panel discussion
One of the highlights of this year’s Africa Oil Week, the Ministerial Panel includes presentations from the oil and gas ministers of Egypt, Angola, Equatorial Guinea, Côte d’Ivoire, South Africa, Republic of Congo and Namibia.

Government panel discussion
The Government Panel Discussion brings top-level state officials from four countries together in one room – Nigeria, The Gambia, Ethiopia and the Seychelles.


Mali Promotion: Oil exploration in Mali and attrating investors 
Offering a chance to meet top Mali officials, this session is a must-attend for anyone looking to the country's promising oil landscape.

Côte d’Ivoire Road Show
The Côte d’Ivoire Roadshow is focused on E&P and licensing round opportunities in the promising oil and gas market of Côte d’Ivoire. Get first-hand information on the state of play in the country from the Minister of Petroleum, Energy and Development of Renewable Energy, the Ministry Chief of Staff in Charge of Petroleum from the Ministry of Oil and Energy, and senior managers from Petroci, Côte d’Ivoire’s national oil company.

For the first time ever at Africa Oil Week, every session at will now include an interactive question and answer session - get your voice heard by the industry's key players. Questions can be asked either directly or confidentially via the app to all speakers this year - so every delegate can take part.

AOW Technology Forum - organised by AAPG
This half-day forum organised by AAPG is made up of two sessions of technically-minded content on the specific challenges presented by E&P activity in Africa.

‘Future Friday’: Overview of how technology will change E&P Africa’s future and energy mix
‘Future Friday’ is a whole day of sessions on the future landscape of exploration and production in Africa. This year, the focus is on the ways in which technology will change E&P activity in Africa, as well as future challenges and predictions, and much more.

Young Professional Roundtable discussions
The Young Professionals in Oil, Gas and Energy Club is a chance for the next generation in African oil and gas to give their careers an early boost. The programme includes ten roundtable discussions that give participants a chance to share the knowledge of their peers.
